Aber auch die Woche wurde ihm versauert: Die dritte Ver\u00f6ffentlichung von \u0084Plan B\u0093, der Soundtrack zum Film \u0084Ill Manors\u0093, hat auf Platz 1 gechartet. Und schon lief im Radio st\u00e4ndig: \u0084We\u0091ve had it with you politicians, you bloody rich kids never listen\u0093 und \u0084Don\u0091t bloody give me that I\u0091ll lose my temper, who closed down the community centre?\u0093<\/p>\n<p><em>von David Schultz aka Holger Burner, Hamburg<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Es wird viele Leute, die \u0084Plan B\u0093 mit seinem zweiten Album \u0084The Defamation Of Strickland Banks\u0093 kennengelernt haben, musikalisch vor den Kopf gesto\u00dfen haben, nach einem NeoSoul-Album pl\u00f6tzlich eins mit harten britischen Beats zu h\u00f6ren.<\/p>\n<h4>Riots<\/h4>\n<p>Aber diese R\u00fcckbesinnung auf den Sound, den \u0084Plan B\u0093 schon 2006 gemacht hat, ist die ideale Umgebung f\u00fcr die Geschichten aus dem Britannien der Krise. Und eine sch\u00f6ne Abrechnung mit den ganzen Mainstream-Medien, die bei den Riots mit dem Finger auf die Kids in den britischen Arbeitervierteln gezeigt haben, statt auf die Profiteure der Krise und die Regisseure der Verarmungspolitik.<\/p>\n<p>\u0084Keep on believing what you read in the papers, council estate kids, scum of the earth.<\/p>\n<p>Think you know how life on a council estate is. From everything you\u0092ve ever read about it or heard.\u0093<\/p>\n<p>Aber auch was die Riots betrifft, hat \u0084Plan B\u0093 bessere Vorschl\u00e4ge:<\/p>\n<p>\u0084Let\u0092s go looting, no not Luton. The high street\u0092s closer, cover your face.<\/p>\n<p>And if we see any rich kids on the way, we\u0092ll make \u0092em wish they stayed inside.\u0093<\/p>\n<p>Da in Luton schon seit der Werkschlie\u00dfung von Vauxhall im Jahr 2000 nichts mehr zu holen ist, eigentlich ein ganz guter Vorschlag. Aber man muss den Film nicht gesehen haben, um zu verstehen, welche Realit\u00e4t die Songs abbilden. Zumindest diejenigen, die komplette Musikst\u00fccke sind \u0096 es gibt auch viele beatunterlegte Filmausschnitte und Skits, die allein nicht nachvollziehbar sind. Aber alleine das Video zum Titeltrack ist schon genial, ein gro\u00dfartiges Zusammenspiel von Texth\u00f6hepunkten und Szenenschnitten. Funktioniert aber auch ohne das Video als hervorragender Demo-Track!<\/p>\n<h4>Ill Manors<\/h4>\n<p>Zur\u00fcck zu den Inhalten: Es ist vielleicht nicht besonders innovativ \u0084C.R.E.A.M.\u0093 vom Wu-Tang-Clan lyrisch ver\u00e4ndert zu rappen, aber die Umsetzung<\/p>\n<p>\u0084Drugs rule everything around me<\/p>\n<p>Thugs makin\u0092 money<\/p>\n<p>My manor manor\u0092s I\u0092ll ya\u0092ll, I\u0092ll ya\u0092ll\u0093<\/p>\n<p>im Track \u0084I Am The Narrator\u0093 ist einfach gelungen \u0096 und das gute ist eben die Mischung, er erz\u00e4hlt von den Verh\u00e4ltnissen im Mikrokosmos der Viertel, wo du entweder arbeitslos oder Ticker bist, ohne dabei die Ebene der Reichen und M\u00e4chtigen au\u00dfen vor zu lassen.<\/p>\n<p>\u0084As for Jake, he\u0092s already made his decision<\/p>\n<p>And now he\u0092s just another poster boy<\/p>\n<p>For David Cameron\u0092s Broken Britain.\u0093 (Playing With Fire)<\/p>\n<p>\u0084What you looking at, you little rich boy?\u0093<\/p>\n<p>Also: Man sollte von \u0084Plan B\u0093 keine Anleitung zu politischen Strategien erwarten, auch als Regisseur ist er kein Ken Loach \u0096 aber es ist sch\u00f6n zu sehen, dass die miserablen sozialen Verh\u00e4ltnisse im Kapitalismus zumindest so weit offensichtlich sind, dass sie auch in der Popmusik Eingang finden. Und \u0084Ill Manors\u0093 ist in der Hinsicht ein wenig wie eine Neuauflage von \u0084Paper Planes\u0093 von M.I.A. \u0096 nur dass das Film\u00e4quivalent nicht wie \u0084Slumdog Millionaire\u0093 in Indien spielt, sondern in der ehemaligen Kolonialmacht Indiens. Denn zumindest bei Armut kann man ja von Globalisierung sprechen.<\/p>\n<p>Und vielleicht kriegt ja auch einer der Plattenbosse von Warner, die an dem Album leider ebenfalls reicher werden, irgendwann auf der Stra\u00dfe ein \u0084What you looking at, you little rich boy?\u0093 zu h\u00f6ren \u0096 eine sch\u00f6ne Vorstellung!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230; not shop windows down in Brixton.
