Claus Ludwig (SAV), Mitglied im Rat der Stadt Köln für das linke Bündnis Gemeinsam gegen Sozialraub und stellvertretender Vorsitzender der Fraktion DIE LINKE.KÖLN, wurde auf der Demonstration am 16. Juni von der Polizei festgenommen. Ihm wird vorgeworfen, versucht zu haben, die Festnahme eines antifaschistischen Mitdemonstranten zu verhindern.<\/p>\n

Die Polizei teilte nach der Festnahme dem Oberbürgermeister Schramma (CDU) mit, Ludwig habe rechtsradikale Randalierer befreien wollen, weil er diese mit Linken verwechselt habe. Diese groteske Falschmeldung ließ der OB ohne Rückfrage über seine Pressestelle verbreiten. Das Kölner Boulevardblatt Express griff die Meldung begierig auf und schmückte sie aus. Erst nach zwei Tagen korrigierte die Polizei ihre Falschmeldung.<\/p>\n

Die Falschmeldung wurde vom OB benutzt, um ein kritisches Ratsmitglied zu diffamieren und damit die antifaschistischen Proteste durch die Gleichsetzung „links = rechts“ zu diskreditieren. Offen ist noch, ob die Polizei sich lediglich geirrt oder die Falschmeldung bewusst produziert hat. Die Umstände der Festnahme lassen es durchaus als möglich erscheinen, dass diese nicht zufällig erfolgte, sondern Teil einer gezielten Desinformations-Taktik von Polizei und Politik war – der G8-Gipfel lässt grüßen.<\/p>\n

Mit einem Offenen Brief an den OB wird der Skandal weiter thematisiert. Auch rechtliche Schritte gegen Schramma wegen der nicht zulässigen Verbreitung dieser Falschinformation werden geprüft.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
